A program housed in the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences, the conference is made possible in part by continued community partnerships, including its primary venue, the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning.

Individuals interested in registering should visit the conference website at http://womenwriters.as.uky.edu/register.  Register early to secure a slot in a small-group writing workshop and to receive the early-bird discount. Note that workshops are included in the registration fee, but if you wish to attend the conference reception for presenters and patrons, you must purchase a separate ticket for the reception.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, this year there are five new postgraduate scholarships offered to women enrolled in graduate school — any age, residing in any state, attending any school, in any degree program, though typically a Master of Fine Arts. To apply for a scholarship, view the conference's guidelines online at http://womenwriters.as.uky.edu/postgraduate-scholarships. Awards will be announced by Aug. 1.

On May 18, the Kentucky Women Writers Conference will hold a preview party, free and open to the public, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Morris Book Shop. Join the Women Writers Conference Board and staff for wine, appetizers and a preview of writers to be featured at the Sept. 20-21 conference. One of them, Louisville poet Kiki Petrosino, makes her Lexington debut, reading poems from her witty and wistful Robert-Redford-anagrammed collection, Fort Red Border. In addition, those in attendance can participate in a drawing for one free ticket to the September conference.
